Psychological marketing: customer emotions important

Recently we’ve caught ourselves speaking the marketing shorthand  foreign tongue (buzzwords), and are especially attuned to detecting it in others as well.

So we got a big kick out of The Wall Street Journal’s Business Buzzwords Generator. We picked up on it on social media and immediately thought it was hilariously on trend.

“Use this tool to generate and share custom-built meaningless business phrases using overused business buzzwords, as submitted by WSJ readers,’ says the promotion. The idea is to search buzzwords, or randomly let the app Frankenstein some right-sounding phrases on its own. Hilarity ensues.

Our favorite so far: “At the end of the day, it’s time to act with cloud-based mindshare and incentivize our team ecosystem.”

We want to believe everyone knows WTH they’re taking about, but certainly buzzing can disguise a few gaps in knowledge base and make the newbie sound expert.

We then took a little spin round the blogosphere to see what others thought, and came up with an entertaining list of Top 21 Buzzwords, thanks to Proufoundry.

Enjoy.
